ABOUT

THE GEORGE IS AN 18TH CENTURY, GRADE II LISTED PUB ON GREAT PORTLAND STREET, FITZROVIA.
Across two floors, we offer a food and drink menu befitting of a modern London public house.

If pubs could talk, this one would have a lot to say. As a central hub for the political, cultural and social movements of the late 18th century, home to writers and poets in the 20th century, and in recent years, a favourite haunt of locals and travellers alike, The George has seen it all.

Join us for live sports, great Guinness, Irish Whiskey and Irish Coffees, served alongside cask ales, craft beers, seasonal cocktails, an extensive wine list, & food served all day.

EVENTS

The George houses several options for group bookings, private dining, canapé receptions and family style feasting.

Concealed behind a panelled door, The Green Room is ideal for groups of up to eight, with a private screen for presentations and live sports. The semi-private Snug, with space for 25 guests, features a large convivial table for group dining and drinking, also with a screen. On the first floor, three rooms draw inspiration from their former use as the living quarters of The George’s bygone landlords. Large regency windows overlook the hustle and bustle of Great Portland Street, with original architectural details. Our Private Dining Room can accommodate 20 seated guests, with space for 40 seated in the adjoining Dining Room, and up to 15 in our ‘Glue Pot’ Bar.

All spaces are available for private use. Enquire now and we’ll get back to your request as soon as possible.
